The U.S. Open Returns to Shinnecock

The 126th edition of the U.S. Open returns in 2026 to the historic Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, one of the most revered and demanding venues in championship golf. Scheduled for June 18–21, the tournament once again promises to deliver the stern test that defines America’s national championship. Widely regarded as a true links-style course, Shinnecock Hills is known for its rolling terrain, unpredictable coastal winds, and lightning-fast greens. At roughly 7,400 yards and playing to a par 70, it places a premium on precision, course management, and mental toughness—hallmarks of every U.S. Open setup. The course has a rich championship pedigree, having previously crowned winners such as Brooks Koepka, Corey Pavin, and Raymond Floyd, and will host the event for a sixth time. This year’s championship is expected to feature a full field of 156 players, including the world’s top professionals and qualifiers who battle through local and final stages to earn their spot.
Storylines are already building, with elite players chasing major glory and the possibility of career-defining moments on one of golf’s toughest stages.
Beyond the competition, the event will draw massive crowds—well over 100,000 spectators throughout the week—creating an electric atmosphere across Long Island.
As always, the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills will blend tradition, difficulty, and drama, showcasing golf at its purest and most challenging.
